Apply a layer of sealant to the gasket and contact surfaces of the rear cover.
Lubricate the seal lip with a thin layer of engine oil, reinstall the gasket and screw in the bolts. Tighten the bolts to the required torque.

Carefully cut off the portion of the gasket protruding beyond the dimensions of the rear cover that comes into the mating surface of the oil pan (pic. 3.55).
