General description of electrical equipment (Mazda Capella GE)

The electrical system is 12 volts with negative ground. Energy for the headlights and all electrical components comes from a lead-acid battery, which is recharged by an alternator.

This section describes repair and maintenance operations for various vehicle electrical components not related to the engine. Information on the battery, alternator, distributor, and starter can be found in subsection 2.11, subsection 3.7.3, subsection 3.7.4.3, subsection 3.7.7.

It should be noted that when working with any element of the vehicle's electrical equipment, the negative battery terminal wire must be disconnected to prevent short circuits and burns.
