Relay test
Check that the relay opens the circuit when there is no voltage and closes the circuit when voltage is applied.
Some vehicle electrical components use relays to transmit electrical signals. If the relay is faulty, the electrical item will not work.
The turn signal relay, door lock timer relay, horn relay, side/parking/number plate/wiper relay, and headlamp relay are located in the relay box under the instrument panel on the driver's side. The electronic control unit and the daytime running light relay are located under the instrument panel on the passenger side. On models after 1995, the horn relay is located on the interior wall under the instrument panel on the passenger side.
If the relay is defective, it must be replaced.
