
1. Knock the old seal out of the casing.
2. Lightly lubricate the outer surface of the oil seal with assembly oil or engine oil, install the oil seal into the bore of the rear cover.

3. Using a mandrel, press the seal evenly until it is fully seated. The seal lips must face inward when installed.
4. Apply a layer of sealant to the gasket and the contact surfaces of the back cover.
5. Lightly lubricate the working lip of the oil seal with oil, install the gasket and tighten the bolts. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

6. Carefully trim off the portion of the gasket that protrudes beyond the dimensions of the rear cover and that fits onto the mating surface of the oil pan.
