Caution: If your vehicle has an anti-theft audio system, verify its security code before disconnecting the battery.
2. To make it easier to access the filter, you can crush the air cleaner (see chapter 4).
3. Relieve the pressure in the fuel system as described in Chapter 4.
4. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the hoses from the fuel filter, then unscrew the filter bracket mounting bolts and remove the filter together with the bracket (figure 32.4).
5. Remember which direction the inlet and outlet hoses are facing. Install the new filter in the same way. Connect the hoses to the filter and tighten them with clamps.
6. Otherwise, installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
