The description of repair procedures assumes that the engine is in the vehicle. If the engine has been removed from the vehicle and mounted on a stand, many of the steps described here can be skipped.
The technical data provided at the beginning of this chapter applies only to the procedures described in this chapter. Technical data required for repair of cylinder heads and blocks are given in chapter 2B.
