When the heater is switched to the warm air supply mode, the heater control valve in the motor-. nom compartment opens the supply of coolant to the heater radiator. Radiator (heat exchanger) located in the heater housing and heated by hot coolant. The outside air that comes up to it is heated on the hot plates of the heater radiator, and then enters the car interior. The heater control solenoid valve is controlled by a potentiometer, which is located after the warm air supply regulator in the control unit. It can handle all positions from fully open to fully closed. When the valve is closed, the coolant flows through the bypass back to the engine cooling circuit.
To increase the efficiency of the heater, a 4-stage heater fan is used. In order for the fan to operate at different speeds, load resistors are installed. If one of the resistors fails, the motor does not run at the corresponding speed.
By switching on the air circulation, the outside air supply can be completely shut off. With the help of a fan in this case, only air from the car interior will circulate in the cabin. The air circulation damper is controlled by a push-button switch with a control lamp and a drive motor.
Air supply air filter (for Ford KA model: additional equipment) traps contaminants in the incoming air, such as pollen, dust or other microparticles.
An air conditioner is installed as an additional equipment. Repair of the air conditioning system is not described.
Precautions: work on the air conditioner should be carried out in a workshop. Under no circumstances should the refrigerant circuit be opened, as refrigerant may cause frostbite if it comes in contact with the skin.
