Connecting rods and pistons (Mazda BT-50 (1))

The connecting rods of this engine are forged from manganese steel. In the cover of the lower connecting rod preparation, installation pins are made for the correct installation of the cover. The liners of the connecting rod bearings are made of aluminum, which has good anti-corrosion properties and fatigue resistance characteristics.



The pistons of this engine are made of aluminum with good heat resistance and thermal conductivity parameters. The combustion chamber is not divided, ω-shaped, made by a groove in the piston preparation. The use of a combustion chamber of this shape, as well as the optimization of the spray torch of the injector allowed to reduce the noise of the combustion process and the toxicity of the exhaust gases by improving the combustion process. A special coating is applied to the piston skirt, which serves to reduce the friction of the piston on the cylinder walls.
