Parts installed on the front end of the engine

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Top cover
2. Loosen the auxiliary drive belt (Section 1, Chapter 6). Move the drive belt to the side.
3. Remove all accessible timing belt cover bolts.
4. On models with air conditioning, use the drive belt tensioner bolt to move the adjuster pulley and then push the adjuster aside to access the remaining bolts.
5. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the cover from the engine.
6. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Adjust the drive belt tension (Section 1).
Bottom cover
7. Remove the upper mounting bolt, which is accessible from the engine compartment.
8. Jack up the front of the car, support it on axle stands, remove the right front wheel and mudguard.
9. Remove the two remaining bolts and lift the cover off the engine.
10. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
