Starting the engine by towing (Mazda Capella GC)

When towing a vehicle with the engine off, significantly more effort must be applied to turn the steering wheel and press the brake pedal.

1. Turn on the ignition, engage second gear and press the clutch pedal.

2. The towing vehicle should move slowly.

3. At a speed of approximately 15 km/h, slowly release the clutch pedal, with your right hand on the parking brake lever.

4. If the engine starts, press the clutch pedal and the accelerator pedal.

5. Slowly apply the parking brake to avoid collision with the towing vehicle.

6. Signal to the driver of the towing vehicle.

7. Disengage the gear and release the clutch pedal.

8. Together with the towing vehicle, gently brake using the parking brake.

Caution! Models with automatic transmission and models with a 2.0L engine and electronic fuel injection cannot be towed. Use a booster battery or another vehicle's battery with a jumper cable.
