Setting the ignition timing (Mazda Capella GC)

Remove the spark plug from the first cylinder and close the spark plug hole with your finger, then use a wrench to turn the crankshaft using the pulley mounting bolt. If you feel back pressure, turn the shaft slowly until the mark on the pulley aligns with the "T" mark on the ignition timing indicator scale.

Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil.

Insert the ignition distributor into the rear engine cover so that the rotor is in the position corresponding to the ignition timing in the first cylinder; align the marks made before removing the distributor and tighten the lock bolt.

Connect the vacuum hose and wire from the ignition coil.

Install the distributor cap and connect the cable to the negative battery terminal.
