Disconnect the wire going to the positive terminal of the ignition coil.
Remove the two screws and the distributor cap.
Using a wrench, turn the crankshaft by the pulley mounting bolt until the piston of the first cylinder is at the highest dead center of the compression stroke.
Place a mark indicating the position of the distributor housing plate relative to the engine rear cover; this is necessary to maintain the correct mutual arrangement.
Disconnect the vacuum hoses, loosen the clamp bolt and remove the ignition distributor.
Caution! Do not crank the engine after removing the distributor.
Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil.
Insert the ignition distributor into the rear engine cover so that the rotor is in the position corresponding to the ignition timing in the first cylinder; align the marks made before removing the distributor and tighten the lock bolt.
Connect the vacuum hose and wire from the ignition coil.
Install the distributor cap and connect the cable to the negative battery terminal.
Check the ignition timing.
Caution! Do not crank the engine after removing the distributor.
