Malfunction of the mixture leaning system may cause unstable operation and an increase in the engine crankshaft speed at idle, as well as continued engine operation after the ignition is turned off.
Technical condition check
Checking the technical condition of the air-fuel mixture leaning system when the vehicle is moving in neutral gear is given in section 2.
Replacement of elements
Leaner valve
Remove the air filter and disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
Remove the screws securing the depletion valve to the carburetor. Disconnect the connector from the valve and move it to the side. Replace the O-ring gasket.
Install the new valve in the reverse order of removal.
Idle speed control system economizer switch
Remove the air filter and disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
Remove the screws securing the switch to the carburetor. Disconnect the connector from the switch and move it to the side.
Install the new switch in the reverse order of removal. Before installing the air filter, check the switch adjustment as described in section 2.
