Electrical system — general information (Mazda Capella GD)

All vehicles covered in this owner's manual are equipped with a 12-volt electrical system. Current is supplied via the negative battery terminal. The battery is located in the engine compartment of the car. A starter with forced engagement of the gear is used to start the engine. The starter switch forms a single part with the ignition switch and is energized by the operation of the starter-mounted pull-in switch.

The installed brushless alternator is driven from the crankshaft via a V-belt drive. The regulator installed in the brushless generator serves to regulate the charging current, and the battery charge indicator installed on the dashboard indicates the perfect operation of the electrical system as soon as the battery is charged. The regulator installed on the brushless generator does not require any adjustment.
