With a gasoline engine
- Disconnect the battery cable.
- Remove the wire plug from the back of the brushless alternator and unscrew the wire.
- Loosen the V-belt adjustment clamp bolt and the generator mounting bolts. Press the generator inward and remove the belt.
- Completely remove the generator mounting bolts and remove the generator.
- The installation of a brushless generator is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Place the V-belt into the grooves of the V-belt pedal pulley and press the generator outward in its suspension. Hold the generator in this position and tighten the mounting clamp bolts. The V-belt is tensioned in accordance with the instructions in chapter 4.3.2.
With a diesel engine
- Disconnect the battery cable.
- Remove the right drive shaft as described in the relevant chapter.
- Remove the wire plug from the back of the generator and unscrew the wire
- Remove the tension roller nuts for the V-belt drive and remove the belt. Loosen the bolts and remove the alternator from the underside of the vehicle. Figure 245 shows how to access the brushless alternator.
- Installation is carried out in reverse order. Install the V-belt in accordance with the instructions in chapter 4.3.2.
