Attention! Before removing the fuel hoses and tubes, they must be cleaned with a cold cleaner.
Cause | Elimination Method |
The engine does not start, starts poorly
Preheat not working | Check the preheat system. |
No voltage applied to the fuel shut-off valve | Connect a voltage tester to the valve, turn on the ignition. The LED should light up, otherwise locate and repair the open wire. |
Defective fuel shutoff valve | Check the fastening and ground connection of the fuel cut-off valve. Turn the ignition on and off, and clicks of the valve operation should be heard. |
Fuel system failure | Check fuel supply. Clear fuel pipelines. Replace fuel filter. Clean out. |
Nozzle defect | Check the injectors by loosening the union nuts in succession and checking that the cylinders are working. |
High pressure fuel pump defect | Test with a known-good pump. |
The engine does not run smoothly at idle, at the beginning of the movement | Fuel hoses not attached to fuel pump or fuel filter. Replace fuel hoses, tighten clamps, hollow screws. |
Increased fuel consumption
Air filter dirty | Replace air filter element. |
Leaks in the fuel system | Visually inspect the entire fuel line, fuel filter and high pressure fuel pump. |
Clogged fuel return pipe | Blow air from the fuel return pipe from the high pressure fuel pump to the fuel tank. Replace the overflow throttle in the hollow screw of the fuel return pipe. |
Increased idle speed | Adjust idle speed. |
Preheat indicator lamp does not light up
Defective control lamp on the dashboard | Replace lamp. |
glow plug defect | Check glow plugs. |
The preheat indicator lamp does not light up, the cold engine does not start well
Defect in one or more glow plugs | Check and possibly replace glow plugs. |
