Attention! The air conditioning system is under pressure. Do not disconnect the system piping until it is discharged. The refrigerant must be properly removed and sent for recovery to a service station or to a socialized station having the appropriate equipment.
Removing
1. Discharge the air conditioning system (to do this, contact a specialized station).
2. Disconnect or battery negative cable.
Caution: If your car's audio system is equipped with an anti-theft protection, make sure you know the unlock code before disconnecting the battery.
3. Disconnect the pipes from the receiver/drier (pic. 15.3,a,6). Seal the openings immediately to protect the system from moisture.
Note. On 1997 and earlier Mazda models, the receiver/dryer is located on a bracket in front of the radiator. On Mazda models since 1998 and on all Probe models, it is located near the right rear corner of the engine compartment.
4. Turn out two bolts from a basic arm of a receiver and remove it from the car.
Installation
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. When replacing sealing wheels, keep in mind that the rings must match the type of refrigerant in your air conditioner. Do not lubricate the union nuts with compressor oil. When replacing the receiver / dryer with a new one, add 30 grams of oil to it (for Probe models) or 10 grams (for Mazda models). Use only oil compatible with the refrigerant charged in the system. Tighten the inlet and outlet pipe fittings of the receiver securely. When installing a new receiver, transfer the cycle switch from the old receiver to the new one.
6. Transfer the system for the day of filling and checking to a specialized station.
