Checking and adjusting the throttle linkage (Mazda Capella GC)

1. The throttle valve is driven from the pedal by a cable, which must be periodically checked and adjusted.

2. Inspect the cable along its entire length and make sure it is not stuck anywhere.

3. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature and make sure the throttle is fully open (Chapter 14), and the cable is adjusted correctly (Section 4).

4. Measure the play of the cable at the carburetor and adjust it as necessary, as shown in the illustration. The clearance should be 1-3 mm.
