Using a clean screwdriver, lower the float into the tank. The control lamp should light up when the float drops below the "Min" mark and go out when the float rises above the mark.

The brake fluid level sensor can also be tested with an ohmmeter connected to the sensor connector. The sensor contacts should close when the float drops below the "Min" mark and open when the float rises above the mark (figure 10.21).
