Attention! It is recommended to install Holts Amber Lamps in order to replace the headlight beam with the light that is accepted for cars operated in Europe.
If the headlights are not adjusted correctly, they can dazzle the driver of an oncoming vehicle, resulting in an accident or severely reduced visibility. The headlights have two adjustment screws with springs, one on the top for vertical adjustment and one on the side for horizontal adjustment.
There are several methods for adjusting headlight beams, the simplest is to use a screen or a light-colored wall 3 m in front of the vehicle and a flat, level floor.
Preparation
Park the vehicle on a flat, level surface at a distance of 3 m from a screen or a light-colored wall.
Apply adhesive tape vertically to the screen along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and the centers of both headlights.
Attention! If the car is equipped with four headlights, stick four strips in accordance with the center of each headlight and one strip along the longitudinal axis of the car.
Apply adhesive tape horizontally to the screen through the centers of all headlights.
Attention! It may be easier to determine the center of the headlights if you park your car a few inches from the wall.
Adjustment
When adjusting the headlights, the following conditions must be observed:
- the car must be installed on a flat horizontal platform;
- the car is in running order: the fuel tank is half filled, in the trunk there is a set of tools and a spare wheel;
- tire pressure is normal;
- before adjusting, it is necessary to shake the car body so that all suspension elements fall into place;
- the driver must be in the vehicle.

First, adjust the dipped beam headlights: set the high-intensity zone so that it is just below the horizontal line and 5 cm to the right (for left headlight) or left (for right headlight) from the vertical line. Adjustment is carried out by turning the adjusting screws (pic. 13.30, 13.31).

Turn on high beam headlights. The high intensity zone should be adjusted so that its center is 5 cm below the horizontal line.
Fine adjustment is only possible with a special instrument.
Attention! It may not be possible to accurately adjust the headlights at the same time low beam and high beam. If you need to find a compromise solution, keep in mind that dipped beam headlights are used more often and have a greater impact on driving safety.
