Figure 13.38. Main elements and location of the antenna with amplifier on the vehicle: 1 – antenna amplifier; 2 – antenna mast; 3 – antenna drive motor; 4 – antenna relay; 5 – antenna wire; 6 – bracket
The main elements and location of the antenna with amplifier on the car are shown in the figure 13.38.
Remove the lower instrument panel trim, glove box, heater duct and heater fan.
Remove the side trim and disconnect the antenna wire, but not the power wire.
Remove the antenna motor bracket together with the motor and antenna mast.
Figure 13.39. Inserting a screwdriver into the antenna mast and moving it upward to remove the antenna
To remove the antenna, first insert a screwdriver into the hole in the antenna mast and pull the antenna out about 1.5 cm as shown in the figure 13.39.
Figure 13.40. Connecting the battery to contacts "B" and "BG" of the connector (1) for pulling out the antenna
Apply voltage from the battery to the "B" and "BG" terminals of the connector and pull the antenna out of the engine (figure 13.40).
Remove the two screws securing the antenna to the vehicle body pillar and remove the antenna mast from the vehicle.
Figure 13.41. Connecting the battery to contacts "B" and "BG" of the connector (1) for retracting the antenna
Install the antenna on the car body and insert the antenna toothed strip into the engine hole. To retract the antenna into the engine, apply voltage from the battery to the "B" and "BG" contacts of the connector (figure 13.41). Insert the antenna mast into the engine hole until it is secured with a latch.
Install the motor and bracket.
If the antenna does not extend completely, rotate the antenna motor several times to automatically adjust the tension of the antenna toothed strip.
