Raise the front of the vehicle and secure it on stands.
Check the driveshaft seals located at the exit of the driveshafts from the gearbox housing. If there are traces of oil leaking from the driveshaft/gearbox connections, the driveshaft seals must be replaced.
Protective covers for constant velocity joints (SHRUS) perform a very important role, preventing water and dirt from entering the CV joints. If fuel or grease comes into contact with the protective boot, it can be destroyed, so it is recommended to wash it with soap and water.
Raise the car on a lift, hanging the front wheels. Turn the steering wheel to the right or left as far as it will go and turn the wheel. Inspect the CV joint rubber boots by squeezing them to open the folds.
Check them for cracks, which can lead to grease leakage, water and dirt ingress. Check the condition of the fastening clamps, inspect the covers of the internal hinges and casings on the other side. Replace damaged protective cover immediately.
