Attention! Do not allow coolant to come into contact with clothing or body paintwork. Otherwise, rinse the surface with plenty of water.
Periodically and after carrying out any work on the elements of the cooling system with the draining of the coolant, it is necessary to replace the coolant. If during the repair the cylinder head, head gasket, radiator or oil heat exchanger were replaced, fresh coolant must be poured into the cooling system. This is due to the fact that the anti-corrosion additive in the coolant is deposited during engine operation and creates anti-corrosion protection. In the coolant that was in operation, the activity of anti-corrosion additives is reduced.
When servicing the cooling system, check all hoses and radiator cap and replace if necessary.
Drain the coolant on a cold engine.
Remove the cap from the radiator.
Install a coolant container under the radiator drain plug. Remove the plug and drain the coolant from the radiator. If the plug is difficult to remove or the radiator does not have one, disconnect the lower radiator hose and drain the coolant.
Disconnect the hose from the expansion tank, remove the tank and rinse it outside with clean water.
Close the radiator drain plug. Set the heater control knob to the maximum heat position so that the radiator and heater hoses are also flushed with water. Insert a hose into the radiator filler neck and flush the system until clean water comes out of the drain holes.
If the radiator is very dirty, remove it and wash it with a special agent, following the instructions for use.
Before filling the cooling system, connect the radiator hoses and install the expansion tank and overflow hose.
Check the condition of the radiator and heater hoses, as well as the reliability of their fastening with clamps. Replace damaged hoses and clamps.
Fill the radiator to the base of the neck, then add coolant to the expansion tank to the bottom mark.
Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature, then at idle add coolant to the maximum level. Install the reservoir and radiator caps.
While driving, carefully monitor the coolant level and cooling system hoses for the first few kilometers. Tighten hose clamps and/or add coolant as needed.
