Attention!
- Use caution when handling the sensitive oxygen concentration sensor to avoid damage.
- The oxygen concentration sensor has a flexible wire and connector attached to it that cannot be removed from the sensor. Damage or removal of the flexible wire or connector may adversely affect its operation.
- It is necessary to remove grease, dirt, etc. from the electrical connector and the end of the sensor.
- Do not use solvents when cleaning the oxygen concentration sensor.
- Handle the sensor with care.
- The silicone housing must be installed in the correct position to prevent it from melting and preventing the sensor from functioning properly.
The sensor is installed in the exhaust manifold and can be accessed from the engine compartment.
Since it is difficult to remove the oxygen concentration sensor from a cold engine, warm up the engine to a temperature of 48°C.
Disconnect the connector from the oxygen concentration sensor.
Mark the position of the silicone housing and carefully unscrew the oxygen sensor from the exhaust manifold. Inspect the sensor for signs of damage.
When removing the sensor, you can use a special compound to facilitate unscrewing by applying it to the sensor threads. The threads of the new sensor already have this compound applied, but if for any reason the oxygen sensor is removed and then reinstalled, the threads must be coated with this compound before reinstallation.
Screw in the sensor and tighten it securely.
Connect the electrical connector.
