Remove the toothed belt cover (pic. 15.9).
Pic. 15.10. Align arrow number 1 on camshaft pulley with notch before removing toothed belt
Make sure the number 1 arrow on the camshaft pulley aligns with the notch on the rear belt guard (pic. 15.10). Align the marks if necessary.
Loosen the lock bolt, move the tensioner to the left, loosening the toothed belt tension, then tighten the lock bolt.
Remove the toothed belt.
Make sure the number 1 arrow on the camshaft pulley aligns with the notch and the mark on the timing belt drive pulley aligns with the pointer on the front cover.
Make sure the tensioner spring is fully extended and the lock bolt is securely tightened.
Install the belt by sliding it over the oil pump pulley and tensioner idler pulley.
Loosen the tensioner retaining bolt.
Rotate the crankshaft two turns in the direction of running rotation and check that the number 1 arrow on the camshaft pulley is aligned with the notch and the mark on the belt drive pulley is aligned with the pointer on the front cover. If the marks do not match, remove the belt and reinstall it.
Tighten the locking bolt securing the toothed belt tensioner to the required torque.
Check belt tension by measuring belt deflection.
If the tension is not correct, loosen the stop bolt and adjust the tensioner to the desired belt deflection, then tighten the bolt to the required torque.
Install the toothed belt guards.
