Removal
1. Set the front wheels straight ahead. Remove the wheel and protective shields from under the engine.
2. Connect the winch to the engine.
3. Disconnect the steering rods from the hub brackets.
4. Remove the cross member and transmission mounting bracket. Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.

5. Place a pan under the steering gear and disconnect the hydraulic lines from the steering gear (indicated by the arrow) and the return line from the steering gear.
6. Remove the universal joint boot. Mark the installation position of the joint on the steering input shaft. Loosen the hinge clamp bolt.
7. Remove the rear engine mount.
8. Lower the suspension crossmember and remove the stabilizer bar.

9. Loosen the mounting bolts (indicated by arrows), disconnect the steering column shaft from the steering gear and remove the steering gear. Replace the steering gear mount bushings if they are worn.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
