Trunk lid/tailgate and fuel filler flap lock cables (Mazda Capella GF)

1. Remove the trunk lid lock and disconnect the cable from it (see paragraphs 22 and 25).

2. To access the trunk and fuel filler flap lock cables, remove the trunk trim. Disconnect the fuel filler flap cable (figure 23.2).



3. Disconnect the cables from all fastenings to the body.

4. Loosen the screw and remove the cover of the cable drive lever housing located next to the driver's seat (Fig. 23.4). Remove the lever housing and disconnect the cables from the lever.



5. Tie a thin wire to the end of the rope.

6. Pull the cable into the luggage compartment and untie the wire from it.

7. Tie the wire to the front end of the new cable, then retract the cable and attach it to the drive arm. The rest of the installation procedure is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
