Note: The models described in this manual are equipped with an airbag system. Before working near impact sensors, the steering column, or the dashboard, disconnect the negative battery cable, then the positive battery cable, and wait at least 3 minutes. Accidental deployment of the airbag could result in injury (see chapter 12). The airbag system wiring that runs through the dashboard and center console is colored yellow. Do not connect a tester or vehicle system wires to these wires.
Warning. If the car radio installed in your car has a coded theft protection, then before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the code to unlock it.
1. On models with an adjustable steering column, lower the column as far down as possible.
2. Remove the screws, separate the trim halves and remove them from the car (figure 29.2).
3. Installation is carried out in sequence. reverse of removal.
