Note. The models described in this manual are equipped with an airbag system. Before working in close proximity to shock sensors, steering column or front panel, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, then the cable from the positive battery terminal, then wait at least 3 minutes. Accidental airbag deployment can cause injury (see chapter 12). The airbag wiring harness through the dash and center console is yellow. Do not connect a tester or wires from other vehicle systems to these wires.
Warning. If the car radio installed in your car has an anti-theft code, make sure you have the code to unlock it before disconnecting the battery.
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal (see the warning at the beginning of this paragraph).
2. Using a special tool or a flat screwdriver, carefully remove the front part of the center console trim. Be careful not to scratch the console trim (pic. 27.2).
3. Remove from the console facing of the lever of the selector of modes. On models with a manual transmission, remove the tip of the gear lever (see chapter 7) (pic. 27.3).
4. Disconnect and remove the lining of the parking brake lever (pic. 27.4).
5. Raise the armrest and remove the storage box (if there is an ohm) from the center console (pic. 27.5).
6. Remove the screws that secure the console to the butt (pic. 27.6, a, b).
7. Remove the screws securing the front of the console, then lift the center console above the shift lever (pic. 27.7,a,6). Disconnect all electrical connectors and remove the center console from the vehicle.
8. The center console is installed in the reverse order of removal.
