The glow number characterizes the heat load of the spark plug. The lower the glow number of the spark plug, the higher its heat load. The spark plug can also better dissipate heat, which prevents harmful pre-ignition (engine detonation). A spark plug with a high thermal load also has the disadvantage that its self-cleaning temperature is higher. It is therefore more prone to the formation of soot, especially when the engine rarely reaches its operating temperature while driving (city traffic mode, short trips in winter). As a rule, "cold" spark plugs are installed on "hot" engines, as well as on power units that require greater power. The glow number of the spark plug is usually contained in its designation.
Note: Replacing spark plugs is described in chapter "Maintenance operations".
Spark plugs required

Note: Technical progress is constant. Therefore, it may be possible to use other models of spark plugs. In this regard, when buying new spark plugs, it is recommended to consult a workshop or store.
