Note:
- When performing work, refer to the assembly drawing "Replacing brake pads".
- Do not disconnect the brake hose from the caliper. Otherwise, you will need to perform the brake system bleeding procedure (see the section "Bleeding the brake system").
Replacing brake pads (Ford Ranger).
1 - bolt,
2 - support,
3 - guide pin,
4 - brake shoe,
5 - outer gasket,
6 - external anti-squeak gasket,
7 - inner lining,
8 - internal anti-squeak gasket,
9 - brake shoe guides.
Replacing brake pads (Mazda BT-50).
1 - bolt,
2 - support,
3 - guide pin (P/N - UM51-33-694),
4 - brake shoe (P/N - UMY4-33-28Z),
5 - anti-squeak gasket,
6 - outer gasket,
7 - inner lining,
8 - brake shoe guides (P/N - UMY1-33-29ZA).
1. Jack up the car and remove the front wheel.
2. Loosen the lower caliper mounting bolt and lift the brake caliper up.
3. Remove the parts in the order they are numbered in the assembly drawing "Replacing the brake pads".
Note:
- is carried out in the order opposite to removal.
- When installing:
- Using a special tool, completely press the pistons into the cylinders and then install new brake pads.
- Apply appropriate lubricant to the guide pin and linings (the type of lubricant is indicated on the assembly drawing).
- After installation, press the brake pedal several times and, rotating the wheels by hand, make sure that the wheels rotate easily and smoothly.
