Location of front and rear suspension components
1. These models are equipped with independent front and rear strut type suspension. This uses a combination spring and shock absorber assembly that is mounted directly to the hinge. The lower control arm, which pivots on the chassis, is also attached to the hinge. At the rear, longitudinal balancers are used to position the hinge. In addition, some models use anti-roll bars at the front and rear.
2. Some models are also equipped with a three-way damping system, which adjusts the damping of the shock absorbers either manually or automatically. This is done by actuators mounted on top of the struts, which rotate the push rod approximately 60° to vary the damping action. These models use gas shock absorbers, while non-adjustable models use conventional sealed hydraulic devices.
An optional three-way damping system controls the strut's push rod to vary the damping action
3. Never attempt to heat or straighten any part of the suspension as this may weaken the metal or damage part of it.
