Speed control system parts

1. On models equipped with a cruise control system, it allows the vehicle to maintain a set speed, regardless of gradients or other factors, without the driver having to press the accelerator pedal. The main parts of the system are shown in the figure.
2. In case of malfunction, check:
- is the corresponding fuse damaged?;
- the actuator vacuum hose is attached at both ends and is in good condition;
- the actuator control cable is adjusted to have a play of 0.04 to 0.12 inches in the free position.
3. On models with manual transmission, the clutch pedal switches disengage the cruise control system when the clutch pedal is depressed. If it needs to be replaced, note that it is adjusted by the height of the clutch pedal. Turn the switch so that the clutch and brake pedals are at the same height, then tighten it with the lock nut.

4. Any other problem with the cruise control system should be repaired by a Mazda dealer or other qualified person.
