Back cover — removal and installation (Mazda Capella GC)

Removal

1. Remove the distributor (Section 5).

2. Remove the thermostat (Section 3).

3. Place newspapers or rags underneath the shroud to collect oil from the shroud.

4. Remove the housing mounting bolts and nuts.

5. Using a screwdriver wrapped in a rag, carefully remove the shroud from the engine.

Installation

6. Carefully clean the contact surfaces of the casing and cylinder from the remains of the old gasket.

7. Coat the new gasket with sealing compound and place it on the housing.

8. Install the cover on the cylinder head, install the nuts and bolts and tighten them with the specified tightening force Specification.

9. Install the thermostat and fill the cooling system.

10. Install the distributor.
