Removal
1. Remove the front timing belt cover (Chapter 3), toothed drive belt (Chapter 5) and the camshaft sprocket (Chapter 6).
2. Remove the camshaft cover (Chapter 2).
3. Remove the air injection tubes (Section 6).
4. Remove the distributor (Section 5) and the rear cover of the gearbox (Chapter 10).
5. Unscrew the front casing bolts, carefully separate the casing from the engine and remove it (photo).
A screwdriver wrapped in a rag can be used to pry the cover off without damaging the aluminum housing

6. Remove the rocker arms and shaft assembly from the engine (Chapter 11).
7. Remove the fuel pump and disconnect the camshaft from the engine.
Installation
8. Lubricate the journals and position the camshaft in position with the detonation pin at the top.
The camshaft detonation pin must be at the top when the camshaft is installed
9. Install the rocker arms and shaft assembly.
10. Install the front cover using a new gasket.
11. Install the camshaft sprocket, ensuring that the sprocket and front housing marks are aligned.
12. Install the back cover (using a new gasket) and distributor.
13. Install the fuel pump, air injection pipes, camshaft cover, timing belt and cover.
14. If the installed camshaft is replaced with a new one, follow any break-in instructions given by the manufacturer.
