The central relay is located on the left side of the engine compartment and is secured with a nut to the bracket (figure 14.22).

With the ignition on, use a voltmeter to make sure that the voltage at contacts "A", "C" and "D" is equal to the battery voltage (contact "B" – "ground") (figure 14.23).
To further test the relay, remove it and connect an ohmmeter between contacts "A" and "B" - the ohmmeter should show a resistance of 70 ohms.
Connect the ground wire to terminal "B" and apply 12 V to terminal "A".

Connect an ohmmeter between terminals "C" and "D" and check the resistance. It should be equal to zero.
After checking, install the relay back in place.
