Replacing exhaust system components mainly involves removing heat shields (if any), disconnecting this part and replacing it.
Heat shields and mounting brackets must be installed in their original locations, otherwise damage may occur. Penetrating fluids should be used to loosen rusted threaded connections. However, in some cases it may be necessary to separate the parts using a hacksaw or oxygen cutting.
