The input shaft seal can only be replaced after removing the gearbox. Drive shaft seals can be replaced with the gearbox installed. Replace as follows.
Disconnect the drive shaft from the gearbox.
Using a blunt screwdriver or similar tool, carefully pry out the old seal.
Lubricate the new oil seal with oil. Install the oil seal, the working edges of the oil seal should be directed towards the inside of the gearbox housing. To install the seal, use a tubular mandrel of the appropriate diameter.
Install the drive shaft.
