Brake assist control system (Mazda Capella GD)

This system consists of a throttle damper and a fuel shut-off system. The throttle damper prevents exhaust gas neutralization so that the throttle valve can open slowly when the accelerator pedal is released. The control unit takes engine braking readings and transmits this information further to match fuel requirements to coolant temperature and dynamic characteristics. The brake pedal switch, clutch pedal switch, and throttle damper are connected to this system (only with a stepped gearbox), idle switch, ignition coil negative terminal, idle switch and both water temperature switches.

6.4.1. Possible works

The only adjustment is made on the throttle body damper. To do this, the engine is left running in warm mode and a speed meter is connected. After this, you need to proceed as follows:

Increase the speed to 2500 rpm.

Slowly reduce the engine speed and check that the throttle valve push rod touches the rocker arm at a speed between 1900 and 2100 rpm.

If necessary, loosen the lock nut (1) in Fig.141 and turn the shock absorber to the appropriate setting.
