10.6.1. Removal and installation

  • Figure 160 shows the installed clutch booster master cylinder. Remove the cylinder in the following sequence:
  • If the anti-lock braking system is installed, remove the device relay.
  • Disconnect the clutch line from the cylinder. To do this, use an overhead wrench to avoid damaging the hex key.
  • Loosen the cylinder mounting nuts and remove the cylinder. In this case, you need to hold a thick cloth under the connection point so that the liquid does not drip onto the varnished surface. If this happens, you should immediately wipe off the liquid with a clean cloth.
  • Installation is carried out in reverse order.
  • Tighten the nuts to 20-25 Nm, and the union nuts of the pipelines to 13-22 Nm.
  • Finally, you need to remove air from the installation as described in chapter 10.8.

10.6.2. Cylinder repair

If the cylinder is leaking, it must be replaced. The cylinder has a longer service life and when severely worn, it can easily penetrate into the cylinder bore, so even new cuffs cannot solve the problem.
