Daytime running lights are only available on vehicles intended for use in Canada. This system turns on the headlights when the engine is running. When the parking brake is applied and the engine is running, the light goes out. After the parking brake is released, the headlights come on and remain on until the ignition is turned off or until the parking brake is applied again.
This system is designed to reduce the power consumed by the headlights, as well as to increase the service life of the lamps installed in the headlights.
