Clutch — general information (Mazda Capella GD)

The clutch is a single-plate dry clutch with a diaphragm pressure plate. The clutch action is achieved by a hydraulic unit with a master cylinder and a clutch head cylinder. Depending on the engine version, with or without anti-lock braking system, the pipelines are routed differently.

Figure 160 shows how individual pipelines are connected. The clutch can only be replaced after removing the engine or gearbox. These works are described in the chapters 2.1 or 11.1. The gearbox is disconnected from the engine only when the entire drive unit has been removed.
