Removing
1. Remove the oil pan.
2. Remove the timing belt and crankshaft sprocket.
3. Remove 4 bolts (indicated by arrows) and remove the oil pickup tube.
4. Remove the air conditioning compressor and move it to the side, do not disconnect the hoses from the compressor.
5. Remove compressor bracket.
6. Remove the power steering pump, remove the pump bracket and move the pump to the side without disconnecting the hoses from it.
7. Unscrew the oil pump bolts and remove the pump.
Examination
1. Remove the O-ring and oil pump gasket.
2. Unscrew the pressure reducing valve plug, remove the spring and piston.
3. Remove the screws and remove the oil pump cover.
4. Thoroughly clean and wipe the mating surfaces of the pump and cylinder block with acetone.
5. Remove the pump inner and outer gears. Wash all pump elements in solvent.
6. Inspect the pressure reducing valve springs and measure their length.
7. If the springs are damaged or the length is not within specifications, replace the springs.
8. Install the gears in the pump casing and take the necessary measurements (see subsection 3.2.14).
Installation
1. Remove the crankshaft seal with a screwdriver.
2. Apply multipurpose grease to the new oil seal and install it in place.
3. Install the pump gears into the casing.
4. Fill pump cavities with petroleum jelly. Install the oil pump cover and tighten the cover screws after lubricating them with sealant.
5. Lubricate the pressure reducing valve piston with oil and install the valve elements in the pump casing.
6. Apply sealant to the mating surface of the pump.
7. Install the pump o-ring.
8. Install the pump, insert and tighten the bolts.
9. Install the remaining parts.
