Attention! The models described in this manual are equipped with air bags. When working in the airbag area, always turn them off (see chapter 12) to avoid accidental activation, which could result in injury.
Caution: To avoid damage to the ECU from electrostatic discharge, handle the ECU only by the housing. When removing and installing, do not touch its electrical contacts. If possible, ground yourself to the car body using an antistatic conductor.
1. The electronic control unit (ECU) of the power plant is located inside the cabin under the dashboard, in front of the center console.
2. Disable the airbag system (see chapter 12).
Caution: If the audio system in your vehicle is equipped with a theft protection system, make sure it is secured before disabling the airbags. that you know the unlock code.
3. Remove the front panel in front of the gear shift lever from the center console (see chapter 11). Unscrew the ECU mounting bolts (figure 3.3).

4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the control unit.
Caution: When disconnecting and connecting the BZU connectors, the ignition must be off.
5. Carefully remove the BZU.
Caution: The battery charger can be damaged by electrostatic charge accumulated on your body. Before touching the battery charger, ground yourself to the vehicle body. After removing the BZU, place it on an antistatic mat.
6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
