Removal

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

Caution: If your car stereo is equipped with an anti-theft device, make sure you have the unlock code before removing the battery.

2. Raise the vehicle and support it on supports.

3. Disconnect the pressure line from the slave cylinder. Before disconnecting the line, prepare a small plug and a rag to remove any spilled brake fluid. Plug the end of the line to prevent brake fluid from leaking and dirt from getting into the hydraulic system.

4. Unscrew the bolts securing the working cylinder.

5. Remove the slave cylinder.

Installation

6. Apply a small amount of general purpose grease to the recess of the clutch lever. Install the slave cylinder and tighten its mounting bolts by hand (do not tighten the bolts all the way until the pipe is connected). Make sure that the cylinder push rod enters the recess of the clutch drive lever.

7. Connect the pressure line to the slave cylinder and tighten its mounting nuts by hand.

8. Tighten the cylinder mounting bolts to the specified torque.

9. Tighten the pipeline fastening nut securely.

10. Check the level in the brake system reservoir and add DOT 3 brake fluid to the required level.

11. Bleed the system (see paragraph 5) and check the brake fluid level in the reservoir again.

12. Lower the car to the ground and connect the battery.
