Removing
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal.
Caution: If your car stereo has an anti-theft system, make sure you have the unlock code before disconnecting the battery.
2. Working under the bezel, eat the cotter pin from the push rod of the clutch master cylinder, remove the pin and disconnect the push rod from the clutch pedal.
3. Turn away a nut of fastening of the main cylinder (under the front panel).
4. In the engine compartment, remove the carbon filter (see chapter 6).
5. Clamp the hose connecting the brake reservoir to the clutch master cylinder (the hydraulic system of the clutch drive is fed from the reservoir of the brake system). Pinch the hose so that no brake fluid flows out of it after the hose is disconnected. Disconnect the hose from the clutch master cylinder.
6. Disconnect from the main cylinder the forcing pipeline. Wipe off any spilled brake fluid with a rag. Plug the piping and master cylinder openings to prevent fluid leakage and dirt from entering the system.
7. Turn away a nut and remove the main cylinder from a bulkhead.
Warning! Do not allow brake fluid to come into contact with the paintwork, otherwise it will be damaged.
Installation
8. Install the master cylinder on the bulkhead and tighten the fastening nut by hand.
9. Connect the pressure pipeline to the main cylinder and hand-tighten the nut of its fastening.
10. Tighten the cylinder nut to the correct torque, then tighten the pipeline nut securely.
11. Install the carbon filter (see chapter 6).
12. Put on the main cylinder a hose from a reservoir of a reserve liquid, tighten a collar of fastening and remove a clip from a hose.
13. Under the front panel, wrap the fastening nut and tighten it to the required torque. Connect the pusher to the pedal with a pin and fix the yoke with a new cotter pin.
14. Add fluid to the brake reservoir (DOT 3) and bleed the clutch hydraulic system (see paragraph 5).
