2. Fill the brake reservoir with fresh DOT 3 brake fluid.
Caution: Do not drink used brake fluid or fluid that has been in an open container for a long time.
3. Raise the vehicle and support it on stands to facilitate access to the clutch slave cylinder, which is located on the front side of the transmission.
4. Remove the cap from the bleeder screw and put on the plastic hose so that its other end is below the slave cylinder. Dip the other end of the hose into a container filled with a little brake fluid. Immerse the end of the hose in brake fluid.
5. Have an assistant depress and hold the clutch pedal. Loosen the screw and let the fluid flow out of the hose (pic. 5.5). When the fluid stops flowing, tighten the screw. After that, ask the assistant to release the pedal.
6. Continue this procedure until no more air bubbles come out of the hose. Periodically add brake fluid to the reservoir. Do not allow air to enter the master cylinder, because then you will have to repeat the entire procedure for bleeding the system.
7. Put the cap on the screw and lower the car. Recheck the brake fluid level in the reservoir and top up to the required level. Check the operation of the clutch again before operating the vehicle.
