1. Install the drain plug.

2. Install the output shaft bearing outer race together with its gasket using a punch and hammer.

3. Install the differential bearing ring and gaskets.

4. Install the input shaft spring washer (convex part upwards), then install the spring.

5. Install the reverse gear lever shaft and spring.

6. Install the oil deflector.

7. Install the leash shaft seal.

8. Insert the leash roller and install the roller lever, making sure the spring pin is in the proper position.

9. Insert the tip of the gear shift fork rod into the corresponding hole in the reverse gear selector and install the assembly in place so that the shaft of the driver can be inserted.

10. Place the reverse gear selector spring in place and insert the reverse gear selector rod through the spring at the end of the selector.

11. Place the shift lever on the leash roller end.

12. Attach the lever to the leash shaft with a spring pin.

13. Attach the camshaft lever guide plate with three bolts. The bolts are different from each other and the one without a washer should be installed in the upper right corner. The reverse gear selector spring must be installed around the rear bolt spacer.

14. Install the lock bolt and washer onto the shift lever.

15. Install the bearing support and output shaft bearing ring.

16. Install the input shaft seal with the open end facing up.

17. Install the input shaft bearing into the crankcase.

18. Place the magnet into the groove of the transmission housing.

19. Install the differential.

20. Lubricate the sealing lip of the differential seal with clean transmission oil and install it into the crankcase.

21. Install the spring into the reverse gear lever axle.

22. Place the shift fork assembly onto the output shaft assembly. Insert the shift fork assembly into the transmission case.

23. Carefully slide the shift fork assembly slightly up and out of the mounting lug by tilting the output shaft assembly. Pull the stem out as far as it will go and rotate it 90° from the neutral position. Place the ball at the end of the reverse gear lever shaft and rotate the rod to the neutral position. Carefully insert the rod into the corresponding protrusion of the transmission housing.

24. Insert the spring pin into the tip of the shift fork rod and install it in place.

25. Install the double-arm lever assembly that connects the shift lever to the shift fork rod end.

26. Install a new O-ring on the double-arm lever shaft. Lubricate the double-arm lever with clean transmission oil and install it. Attach the lever with a spring pin.

27. Install the reverse gear selector lever and insert the 5th gear and reverse gear selector rod into place so that the recess on the rod faces outward. The hole in the leash shaft must be aligned with the reverse gear selector.

28. Install the intermediate gear and reverse shaft.

29. On 5-speed models, use RTV sealant to install the oil passage to the transmission case.

30. Connect the transmission housing parts so that the differential is at the bottom. You may need to align the magnet with the slot in the top half of the crankcase.

31. Install the transmission case bolts and tighten them to the specified torque in a diagonal sequence.

32. Install the leash shaft lock bolt together with its sealing washer. Tighten the bolt securely (5-speed gearbox).

33. Install the reverse gear shaft lock bolt (5-speed gearbox).

34. Install the primary gear and tighten its lock nut by hand (5-speed gearbox).

35. Lubricate the input shaft gear bushing with clean transmission fluid and install it in place (5-speed gearbox).

36. Lubricate and install the 5th gear.

37. Install the 5th gear synchronizer locking ring.

38. Install the synchronizer and gear shift fork by aligning the crackers with the grooves in the synchronizer locking ring and securing the fork with a cylindrical pin (5-speed gearbox).

39. Install the synchronizer limiter (5-speed gearbox).

40. Install the output shaft lock nut and tighten it by hand (5-speed gearbox).

41. Tighten both locknuts and drive their locking rims into the shaft grooves using a punch and hammer (5-speed gearbox).

42. Apply sealant to the rear transmission cover, install the cover and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

43. Install the drive shaft seals.

44. Install the reversing light switch.

45. Lightly lubricate the O-ring with clean gear oil and install it onto the speedometer drive assembly. Install the speedometer drive assembly.

46. Install the transmission (Chapter 4).
