Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on stands.
Remove the brake shoe assembly.
Thoroughly clean all dirt from the area around the wheel cylinder.
Loosen the union nut, disconnect and close the brake pipe with a suitable plug. Unscrew the two bolts securing the working brake cylinder.
Remove the wheel cylinder from the rear brake boot and place it on a clean work bench.
Press the brake pedal several times until the brake shoes are positioned with a certain gap in relation to the brake drum.
