Removing
Attention! This erases the contents of electronic storage devices, such as the radio code. Read before disconnecting the battery subsection 2.11.
1. Disconnect the negative ground cable from the battery.
2. Remove glow plugs.
3. When reinstalling the toothed belt, mark it. At the same time, an arrow of the direction of rotation should be applied to the belt with a scriber. The motor rotates clockwise.
Installation
Attention! Do not bend or twist the toothed belt. Be sure to replace dirty, damaged or worn belts. Check up uniformity and ease of the course of a tension roller.
1. To turn the camshaft, lift the front wheel of the vehicle, shift into 5th gear, and turn the wheel by hand.
Attention! Never turn by the camshaft wheels to avoid overloading the front toothed belt.
2. Apply toothed belt. When putting on the old belt, apply it in accordance with the marked arrow for the direction of rotation.
Attention! Make sure the belt fits the wheels well and does not sag.
Tension
1. Loosen the idler pulley bolt just enough to allow the idler pulley to move against the toothed belt under spring force.
2. Turn the crankshaft two turns clockwise until the marks on the camshaft and on the rear plate match. Check again that all labels match.
3. Tighten the idler roller bolt to 25 Nm.
4. Turn the crankshaft two turns in the direction of engine rotation and recheck the adjustment.
5. Check toothed belt tension. The section of the belt between the wheels of the water pump and the camshaft must bend 9.5–12.0 mm from a force of 10 kg (strong finger pressure), if not, loosen the idler bolt and tighten the belt again.
6. Install and secure with a force of 10 Nm rear toothed belt guard.
7. Install glow plugs.
8. Connect the negative ground cable to the battery.
9. If you have a clock, set the time and set the radio's security code.
